While we were searching for a good app to manage our expenses, we came across many. Numbers of apps were available which added to the confusion. Money Manager and many other apps were reviewed by us.

Money Manager is a complete app which offers to manage Income as well as Expense. It has two versions “Free” and “Paid”. Free Version comes with advertisements, but while testing the app, we didn’t see much of ads which made us happy. In the Paid version, they removed advertisements and added up few features.

What we loved a lot about this app was its simplicity. Money Management itself is a complex thing and if we have a simple user interface then it minimizes the worries. The app is well designed and crisp appearance. It appears very professional. Selection of fonts and colour is done in such a way that it will appeal to the majority. What we missed is the set of icons, which could be more expressive for the expense type. However, it doesn’t matter to effectiveness much but certainly lowers the appearance quotient.

The theme colour can also be changed in pre-set options. It doesn’t allow to make your own colour choice but you are provided with good options.

The graphical representation is easy to understand and Realbyte Inc. (developer of Money Manager) knows it well. The app offers an excellent representation of data in graphical format. Most of the stats can be seen in simple numeral formats and can be converted to data representation as well. The transition is very smooth and quick. They are definitely way ahead of many apps in this section.

If we talk about the features then this app scores well, but not much different from other apps in this category. It offers management of Cards, Account and Cash expenses. As we said earlier this app does it very effectively yet in a very simple way, and this makes the difference. At the end of the month, you can track expense through each source and can compare with previous months. Also finding and comparing expense under each expense head is made very simple. You can also add the income. Budgeting is a very important part which let you control the urge of spending money. Money Manager has made it easy.

The user is set free to add/edit income source, expense head and accounts. The access to doing this is set through “setting” section. Which may be bit complex for first time user but after 2-3 use, it becomes very easy to manage.

When you enter any expense, it let you write a memo and/or click a picture. This we found very helpful in adding up the image of bills while entering expense of restaurants. This also reduces the worries to keep the bills to verify your expenses at month end. Photo Save feature is indeed a useful thing.

The data can be secured through passcode. A 4 digit password can be used in the passcode.

The paid version comes up with PC manager, which allows a user to take all data on his laptop. However we didn’t find it as a must-have feature but for professionals who love to have everything managed through their laptop, it may be a good deal. Also getting an ad-free experience is an advantage in the free version.

So we talk all positive about the app. But like everything in the world, this too is not perfect. As we said earlier, Icons are missing. Also, it allows to take you back-up only on Google Drive or through email. Considering the popularity of Dropbox and One Drive, among the professionals, we found a gap in the offering.

The personalisation of the App can be improved. Putting the account holder name may bring more personalised experience.

Overall we found it a great app to have in your mobile. Another option in this category we found impressive is Monefy . “Monefy” is the app developed by “Monefy App” and designed by “icons8”. This app too has almost all the feature what “Money Manager” can offer.
